“Charming Shanxi•Choosing Shanxi”Shanxi Specialties Entering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs event successfully held

Nestled among majestic mountains and rivers, Shanxi, the cradle of civilization, radiates the splendor of its historical and cultural heritage. Foreign affairs provide a platform to benefit enterprises and the public, thereby enabling the economic and social transformation of Shanxi. On May 31, the "Charming Shanxi·Choosing Shanxi — Shanxi Specialties Entering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" event was successfully held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs South Annex Central Square. Zhao Zhiyuan, Member of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jin Zhijian, Secretary of the Department of Services for Foreign Ministry Home and Overseas Offices Party Committee and Director General, Dong Xiaolin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and Director General, Zhou Chao, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Dai Yining, Member of the Department of Services for Foreign Ministry Home and Overseas Offices Party Committee and Deputy Director General , Liang Shujuan, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and Deputy Director General ,Wang Bangfu, Vice Mayor of Jinzhong City attended the event. They jointly pressed the start button to inaugurate the event and the exhibition tour.

This event is a positive initiative taken by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and the Department of Services for Foreign Ministry Home and Overseas Offices in order to further practice the concept of foreign affairs serving both enterprises and the public, coordinate Shanxi's foreign affairs resources to serve the overall national diplomacy, and assist enterprises’ going-global strategy through diplomatic channels.

After multiple rounds of selection by Foreign Affairs Offices at the Provincial, City, and County Levels, a total of 68 enterprises with approximately 600 products are selected to participate in this event. These products cover national-level “little giant” firms, key Shanxi industrial chains “leader” enterprises, national key leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization, provincial specialized towns, listed companies, China’s time-honored brands, Shanxi quality products, and national intangible cultural heritage items. Shanxi is also the first province (region, municipality) to hold a province-wide promotional event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

About 9700 officials and workers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs experienced the exquisite culture and specialties of Shanxi at the event. Specialties like Fenjiu, Guang Yu Yuan, mature vinegar, Qinzhou Huang millet, polished lacquerware and hand-blown glassware, as well as high-tech products from “little giant” firms and industrial chains “leader” enterprises, were widely popular.
