85% of Shanxi political advisers' proposals filed in past 5 years

The 12th Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) – the top political advisory body in Shanxi province – collected 5,677 proposals from members of the 12th CPPCC Shanxi Committee in the past five years, with 4,838 filed and handled. 

The CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, the Shanxi Provincial Government and the handlers of the proposals studied their contents and even implemented a number of them. 

So far, all 4,838 filed proposals have been replied to according to the requirements, and more than 98 percent of the members of the 12th CPPCC Shanxi Committee were satisfied about how their proposals were handled. 

Among the handled proposals, 1,941 were related to economic development, mainly deepening supply-side structural reform, the construction of the Taiyuan-Xinzhou Integrated Economic Zone, building a modern industrial system, and promoting the development of the private sector of the economy. 

The number of filed and handled proposals on political development reached 178, and they were mainly concerned with promoting the construction of the rule of law in Shanxi, optimizing the business environment, and strengthening the construction of grassroots Party organizations. 

Those related to culture totaled 386, mainly focusing on the protection and promotion of traditional Chinese culture and in-depth integration and development of culture and tourism. 

Over 2,000 handled proposals were in the social development category, focusing on the battle against poverty, improvement of the epidemic prevention and control mechanism, and the establishment of a senior care service system. 

In addition, 238 were related to ecological development issues, such as pollution prevention and control and green and low-carbon development. 

During the term of 12th CPPCC Shanxi Committee, 76 key proposals and 16 proposals reports were handled through consultation, providing an important reference for the provincial Party committee and the provincial government to promote relevant work.
