In order to encourage international teenagers to greet and celebrate the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in the form of painting, and promote the art exchange between Chinese and foreign teenagers, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and Shanxi Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries jointly hosted a painting exhibition with the theme of "Greeting the Winter Olympics • Building Ice and Snow Dream ".
The painting exhibition is divided into two parts: domestic works exhibition and foreign works exhibition. The domestic exhibition includes 169 paintings created by students from primary schools in Taiyuan; and the foreign exhibition displays 149 paintings finished by primary school students collected from Shanxi’s friendly partners, organizations and some overseas Chinese schools covering 13 countries, including ROK, Japan, Mongolia, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, New Zealand, Australia, etc.
These paintings, spotlighting the Winter Olympics’ sport scenes, with rich content, and being imaginative and childish, create a fantastic world of ice and snow. Inspired by the Olympic spirit, students express their good wishes to Beijing Winter Olympics and their love of winter sports through paintings. Despite the difficulties of pandemic, the positive attitude and brave heart manifested in the paintings fully showcase the teenagers’ pursuit of excellence and their firm confidence of "Together for a Shared Future".
