Social Economy – Transportation, Post and Telecommunications and Tourism

By the end of the year, the province has built 143,000 kilometers of highway routes, including 5,604.8 kilometers of expressways, and 227 civil aviation routes.

By the end of the year, the total number of civilian vehicles in the province was 6.553 million (including 32,000 three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks), up by 10.1% over the previous year, among which 5.914 million were private vehicles, up by 10.1%. There were 668,000 new registrations this year with a decrease of 9.6% over that of last year. By the end of the year, the number of private cars reached 4.071 million, up 10.0%, of which 3.875 million were private cars, up 10.3%.

Postal services totalled RMB 9.41 billion, up 29.9%. Total telecommunications services totalled RMB 137.01 billion, up 133.8%. At the end of last year, there were 39.615 million mobile phone users, including 29.472 million 4G mobile phone users.

The whole province has 9.91 million broadband access users, up 12.0%.

In the whole year, commercial accommodation facilities received 713,000 inbound overnight tourists and 700 million domestic tourists, up 6.5% and 25.5% respectively. Foreign exchange revenue from tourism reached USD 380 million, up 8.0%. Domestic tourism revenue reached RMB 669.95 billion, up 25.5%. Total tourism revenue reached RMB 672.87 billion, up 25.5%.


Social Economy – Development and Opening

40 development zones at or above the provincial level were included in the statistics at the end of the year, with the annual tax revenue of RMB 44.3 billion, an increase of 22.0% over the previous year. The revenue from the main business of the “four top” enterprises reached RMB 992.83 billion, up 24.7% over the previous year.

The total import and export volume reached RMB 136.99 billion, with an increase of 17.8%, among which the import value was RMB 55.95 billion, up 18.4% and the export value reached RMB 81.04 billion, up 17.4%.

The province exported 9,000 tons of coal last year, down 70.2%. The export of Coke reached 100,000 tons, down 51.2%. The export of magnesium and its products reached 41,000 tons, down 4.5%. The export of steel reached 1.298 million tons, with a decrease of 2.6%, among which stainless steel was 865,000 tons, down 9.9%. The export of mechanical and electrical products reached RMB 58.48 billion, up 24.8%. The export of high-tech products reached RMB 49.93 billion, up 24.6%.

The import of iron ore was 8.81 million tons, up 74.7%, and the import amount was RMB 3.77 billion, up 84.7%. The import of mechanical and electrical products reached RMB 31.43 billion, up 11.2%.

47 new foreign-direct investment enterprises were established in the whole province. The total amount of foreign direct investment actually used was USD 2.36 billion, up 39.7%.


In the whole year, the newly signed contract value of foreign contracting projects in the province was USD 1.02 billion, down 2.8%, and the completed turnover was USD 1.4 billion, up 97.0%.


Social Economy – Fixed Asset Investment
 
Investment in fixed assets (excluding cross-provincial and rural households) increased by 5.7%.

In fixed asset investment, state-owned and state-controlled investment increased by 22.3%, while private investment fell by 3.9%.

By type of registration, investment by domestic enterprises increased by 5.8%, while investment by foreign investors, enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan increased by 2.2%.

In terms of composition, investment in construction and installation projects increased by 1.7%, investment in the purchase of equipment and tools increased by 13.4%, and other investment increased by 20.4%.

By sector, investment in the primary industry fell 54.4%. Investment in the secondary industry grew by 8.2%, with industrial investment rising by 7.7%. Investment in the tertiary industry grew by 14.0%, including 16.8% in infrastructure.

In industrial investment, investment in technological upgrading of enterprises increased by 20.9%, manufacturing investment increased by 14.5%, investment in the coal industry increased by 6.3% and investment in non-coal industries increased by 7.9%.

In the whole year, 9,561 fixed-asset investment projects (excluding real estate development projects) were under construction, among which 2,732 projects worth more than RMB 100 million were completed, with investment in projects worth more than RMB 100 million increasing by 20.2%.


Social Economy – Energy

The annual primary energy production of the province converted to 710 million tons of standard coal, an increase of 7.4%. Secondary energy production was converted to 510 million tons of standard coal, up 2.0%.

Last year, the province transferred 92.71 billion kW•h of electricity to other provinces, an increase of 19.6%.


216.05 billion kW•h of electricity was consumed last year. Among them, the primary industry used 1.67 billion kW•h of electricity, accounting for 0.8% of the total electricity consumption, the secondary industry used 169.01 billion kW•h of electricity, accounting for 78.2% of the total electricity consumption, of which 166.71 billion kW•h was used by industry, the tertiary industry used 25.52 billion kW•h of electricity, accounting for 11.8% of the total electricity consumption, and urban and rural residents had electricity consumption of 19.85 billion kW•h, accounting for 9.2% of the total electricity consumption.


Social Economy – Industry and Construction Industry

In the whole year, the added value of industries above the provincial size increased by 4.1% over the previous year. The added value of the coal industry increased by 0.3% while that of non-coal industries increased by 8.2%. Among industries above designated size, the added value of strategic emerging industries increased by 14.0%, accounting for 9.8% of the total added value of industries above designated size, an increase of 0.8% over the previous year. Among the strategic emerging industries, the new energy automobile industry grew by 38.6%, high-end equipment manufacturing industry increased by 25.0%, new-generation information technology industry increased by 21.2%, and new materials industry increased by 11.4%.

At the end of the year, the province’s installed power capacity was 87.577 million kilowatts, 8.5% higher than that at the end of the previous year. Among them, the installed thermal power capacity reached 66.277 million kW, up 4.1%; Grid-connected installed wind power capacity reached 10.432 million kW, up 19.7%; Grid-connected installed solar power capacity reached 8.641 million kW, up 46.4%; and installed hydropower capacity reached 2.228 million kW, down 8.8%.


In the whole year, the main business income of industrial enterprises above the designated size reached RMB 1925.21 billion, with an increase of 11.4%. Among them, the energy industry earned RMB 1,122.44 billion from its main business, up 11.2%; materials and chemical industry earned RMB 472.25 billion, up 13.8%; the consumer goods industry reached RMB 90.04 billion, down 2.4%; equipment manufacturing reached RMB 229.73 billion, up 11.6%; and other industries reached RMB 10.75 billion, up 67.2%.


In the whole year, profits and taxes of industries above the designated size reached RMB 265.73 billion, up 24.3% and profit reached RMB 135.59 billion, up 34.0%, of which RMB 61.2 billion was made by state-owned holding enterprises. The cost per RMB 100 of main business income of industrial enterprises above the designated size was RMB 79.18, a decrease of RMB 0.99.
 

The added value of the construction industry was RMB 115.28 billion, an increase of 6.1% at constant prices. Construction enterprises above the qualification level completed a total output value of RMB 407.15 billion, up 14.2%, and signed contracts value of RMB 904.9 billion, up 5.4%. The construction area of housing construction was 166,518 million m2, up 5.0%, and the completed area was 36,925 million m2, up 3.9%. Construction enterprises of above the qualification level total 2923, an increase of 114. Among them, 12 were special class enterprises, an increase of 4, and 185 were A-class enterprises, an increase of 17.

 

Social Economy – Agriculture


The annual crop planting area of the whole province was 3,555.2 thousand hectares, 22.5 thousand hectares less than that of the previous year. Among them, the area under grain cultivation was 3,137.1 thousand hectares, a decrease of 43.9 thousand hectares; the area of oil plantations was 111.9 thousand hectares, a decrease of 2.2 thousand hectares; the planting area of Chinese herbal medicines was 74.7 thousand hectares, an increase of 7.1 thousand hectares; the planting area of vegetable was 176.9 thousand hectares, an increase of 7.1 thousand hectares. Among the grain planting area, the planting area of corn was 1747.7 thousand hectares, a decrease of 59.2 thousand hectares; the planting area of wheat was 560.3 thousand hectares, decreased by 0.3 thousand hectares; the area of orchard was 363.3 thousand hectares, an increase of 3.7 thousand hectares.

The annual grain output of the province was 13.804 million tons, an increase of 253,000 tons or 1.9%. Among them, 2.299 million tons of summer grain were harvested, a decrease of 1.7%; autumn grain output was 11.505 million tons, an increase of 2.6%.

Last year, the area of afforestation reached 340.1 thousand hectares, an increase of 9.0%.

Last year, the production of pig, beef and mutton totalled 771,000 tons, down 0.1%. The production of pork was 625,000 tons, down 0.3%. The production of beef reached 65,000 tons, up 10.0%. The production of mutton reached 81,000 tons, down 5.0%. The production of milk reached 811,000 tons, up 4.7%. The production of poultry eggs reached 1.026 million tons, up 0.7%. The production of aquatic products was 48,000 tons, down 9.9%. At the end of the year, 5.495 million hogs were in stock and 8.146 million hogs were sold.


Social Economy – Domestic Trade

The total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 733.85 billion, an increase of 8.2%. The retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas reached RMB 595.67 billion, up 8.2%. The retail sales of rural consumer goods reached RMB 138.18 billion, up 8.4%. According to statistics on consumption patterns, retail sales reached RMB 666.03 billion, up 8.2%; Catering revenue reached RMB 67.82 billion, up 8.2%.

In the whole year, the retail sales of consumer goods of units above the quota reached RMB 229.64 billion, up 3.4%. Among them, the online retail sales of wholesale and retail units above quota reached RMB 4.71 billion, up 27.6%, accounting for 2.1% of the total retail sales above the quota.

By the end of the year, the province had 2.354 million market entities, up 12.6%. The number of newly registered market entities in the whole province reached 434,000, up 11.9%.


Social Economy – Finance

At the end of the year, the total balance of domestic and foreign currency deposits of financial institutions in the province reached RMB 3,534 billion, which was RMB 248.93 billion higher than that at the beginning of the year, and 7.6% higher than that at the beginning of the year. The outstanding balance of loans reached RMB 2.52564 trillion, an increase of RMB 266.8 billion or 11.9% over that at the beginning of the year.

At the end of the year, the deposit balance of rural financial cooperative institutions (Rural Credit Cooperatives, Rural Cooperative Banks, and Rural Commercial Banks) was RMB 767.78 billion, an increase of RMB 60.87 billion or 8.6% over that at the beginning of the year. The balance of RMB loans reached RMB 476.54 billion, an increase of RMB 64.16 billion or 15.6% over that at the beginning of the year.

At the end of the year, there were 38 listed companies in the province. The turnover of all kinds of securities in the provincial securities market reached RMB 4615.98 billion, up 9.5%. Among them, the turnover of stocks was RMB 1,400.35 billion, down 24.6%; fund turnover reached RMB 143.98 billion, up 39.5%; bond turnover reached RMB 3,092.59 billion, up 47.7%. At the end of the year, 2.512 million investor funds were opened, up 7.2%.


The annual premium income of the whole province was RMB 82.49 billion, up 0.1%. Among them, the premium income from life insurance were RMB 48.72 billion, down 9.1%; the premium income from health insurance reached RMB 10.83 billion, up 35.6%; the premium income from accident insurance business was RMB 1.65 billion, up 18.6%; the premium income from property insurance business reached RMB 21.29 billion, up 9.7%. RMB 26.74 billion in reparations and payments were paid, up 2.4%.
